Tomorrow, we will enter the month of Zulhijah which is also known as the month of Hajj.

Although, this year Muslims in Malaysia had to postpone once again the obligatory pilgrimage, but there is still a chance for us to reap the rewards of practice in the first 10 days of Zulhijah.

To strengthen this, Rasulullah SAW said which means: "The best day in the world is 10 days". (Reported by al-Bazzar)

• Among the practices that are highly encouraged during the first 10 days of Zulhijah is dhikr (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar).

This is explained through the words of Allah SWT which means: So that they witness various things that benefit them as well as commemorate and mention the name of Allah, on certain days. (al-Hajj: 28)

Ibn Abbas ra interpreted the meaning of 'certain days' as the first 10 days of Zulhijah and this is the opinion of the majority of scholars.

• The second practice is fasting. Muslims who do not perform the obligatory pilgrimage are encouraged to fast on one to nine Zulhijah. The date of 9 Zulhijah, which is the Day of Arafah, is the best day to fast.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about the advantages of the day of Arafah: "There is no day on which Allah frees His servants more than the day of Arafah." (Muslim History)

The Prophet SAW also when asked about the benefits of fasting on the day of Arafah replied, it removes past sins and years later.

However, there is no specific advantage or reward for fasting circumcision from 1 to 8 Zulhijah except on the day of Arafah which is the 9th day of Zulhijah.

• Third, do other practices such as giving alms, reciting the Qur'an, sunnah prayers and so on.
• Next, stay away from immorality. The opportunity to be in the first 10 days of Zulhijah is the best time to start repentance for anyone who is still postponing it.

It is very rude for Muslims to rejoice by going beyond the limits of haram on this great day in the sight of Allah SWT. Repent with true repentance and realize that this life is only temporary and all that pleasure is a mere satanic deception.

• The fifth is takbir: Saidina Ali indicates that takbir begins immediately after the Subuh prayer on the day of Arafah until the end of the Asr time of the third day of Tasyrik.
• The last is sacrificial worship. The words of Allah SWT which means: And for every ummah We have prescribed slaughter (sacrifice), so that they mention the name of Allah, the sustenance that Allah has bestowed on them in the form of livestock. (al-Hajj: 34)

Among the evidences of the Qur'an and the hadith that mention the advantages of the first 10 days of Zulhijah.

• The words of Allah SWT which means: (For the sake of the dawn and the tenth night) . (al-Fajr: 1-2)

According to Ibn Kathir: What is meant here is the first 10 nights of the month of Zulhijjah. Similarly, the interpretation of Ibn Abbas, Ibn Az-Zubair, Mujahid and others. (Reported by Bukhari)

• From Ibn Umar ra, Rasulullah SAW said which means: “There is no day that is greater in the sight of Allah SWT and doing good deeds on it is more beloved by Allah than these 10 days. So multiply it with tahlil, takbir and tahmid ”. (Reported by Ahmad)
• According to al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar: What is clear, among the reasons for the specialty of the 10 days of Zulhijah is that it gathers in it some great acts of worship, namely prayer, fasting, alms and pilgrimage. At other times, these deities were never assembled as such.
• Fasting. From Hunaidah bin Khalid, from his wife, from some of the wives of the Prophet SAW said: "The Prophet SAW fasted on the ninth day of Zulhijah, on the day of Ashura (10 Muharram) and three days in each month". (Reported by Ahmad and Abu Daud)
• Merits of Hari Raya Aidiladha (Yaum an-Nahr) on 10 Zulhijah. Most Muslims have forgotten the advantages of today. The greatness and advantage of the gathering of so many Muslims from all over the world.

Some scholars think that today is the most afdal in a year so that it exceeds the day of Arafah.

Conclusion:

# It is recommended not to cut nails and cut hair starting 1 Zulhijah (1 July 2022) until the day of slaughter for those who perform sacrificial rituals.

# It is Haram to fast on 10 July 2022 (10 Zulhijah) until 13 July 2022 (13 Zulhijah)

# 1 July 2022 until 9 July 2022 circumcised fasting and multiplying pious deeds because his reward will be multiplied.

# Fasting of Arafah 9 July 2022 (9 Zulhijah)
