Promoting International Cooperation: UPM & Walailak University Virtual Mobility Program

Serdang - The Connect Beyond Homeland Mobility 4.0 program, organized by the Volunteering and Internationalization Secretariat of the College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College (KTMB) session 2024/2025, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully implemented virtually via the Google Meet platform on May 31 and June 1, 2025. This program was held in collaboration with the University of Walailak, Thailand, which is an initiative aimed at promoting knowledge sharing that includes the theme of language, culture and celebration sharing.
Throughout the program, various interesting activities were organized. These included the opening ceremony, ice-breaking sessions, language, culture and celebration sharing on the first day conducted by the program participants. On the second day, there was a sharing session related to activities and programs organized by the university, presented by members of the College Representative Council, KTMB and Walailak University. The program ended with a closing ceremony.

This program was officiated by YBrs. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurul Hayah binti Khairudin, Principal of Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College. In fact, it was also attended by Mohamad Haikal bin Arsahak, President of the College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College session 2024/2025. This program has received a very encouraging response with the participation of 16 participants from University of Walailak, Thailand and 661 Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College students as participants and 21 students from Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College as members of the implementing committee.

By organizing this program, participants, especially Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students, are expected to hone and improve their ability to convey information clearly and effectively. In addition, this program also provides students with opportunities to contribute thoughtful ideas, work in teams, and share energy, knowledge and skills in a conducive atmosphere. Initiatives like this also play an important role in encouraging more open, critical and innovative thinking, in addition to building a deeper understanding of global issues. Indirectly, it provides students with meaningful experiences in establishing relationships with the international community and broadening their perspectives in an increasingly interconnected world.
