SERDANG, 23 FEBRUARI 2023 - The Volunteering and Mobility Secretariat, College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College 2022/2023 session has been advocating a programme that is based on community and societal services namely the Healthy Ageing With KMB Programme with the collaboration of Selangor State Social Welfare Department (JKMNS) and Malaysian Institute of Aging Research (MyAgeing@UPM) and got sponsored by Farm Fresh Berhad on 17 December 2022 ago. The Healthy Ageing with KMB programme is a volunteer programme for the community of golden citizens recommended by the Volunteering and Mobility Secretariat, College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College 2022/2023 session. The programme, which is built in collaboration with Selangor State Social Welfare Department (JKMNS) and Malaysian Institute of Aging Research (MyAgeing@UPM), aims to ensure that the mental and physical health of the golden citizens is at a good level. The programme is expected to have an impact on the golden citizens as Malaysia prepares for its 'old country' status by 2030.

 

 

The program, which is being held at House of Kenangan, Cheras, aims to share the love and hone the skills of communicating Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College students especially for the elderly. In addition, the program also holds the objective of ensuring that the physical and mental health of the elderly is at a good level in preparation for Malaysia to be 'old' by 2030. The program has been attended by 30 volunteers. Among the main activities are morning exercises, introductions on spinal pain, cognitive filters, seremban stone play and friendly sessions.

 

Many thanks to Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College Volunteers and all those involved in making this Healthy Ageing With KMB program a success. Hopefully this program can have a positive impact on students to be more aware of the health of the elderly and inject their volunteer spirit.
