Outstanding Achievements at UPM's Convocation and Agriculture Expo 2025

Serdang, 5 December 2025 – The 49th Convocation and Agriculture Expo (PESKON) took place in vibrant celebration from 28th of November to 5th of December 2025 at the Main Tent around the building of Canselori UPM. This annual programme continues to serve as an important platform for elevating the arts, culture and talents of students while fostering unity among the university community. Arustika Putrasakti Club which under the Secretariat of Culture and Arts, College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College sent three (3) teams to compete in inter-college competitions organised by UPM clubs in collaboration with Student Representative Council and the Student Affairs Division. The year’s participation included the 16th Inter-college Nasyid Festival (FESNIK XVI), Boria Competition 2025 and Creative Ethnic Dance Competition.

 

On 28th November 2025, Arustika Putrasakti club took part in the 16th Inter-college Nasyid Festival (FESNIK XVI) organised by the Nahwan Nur Nasyid Club represented by the group Arasy Sakti consisting of 8 participants and supported by 11 committee members. The team was led by the team manager, Ms.Nurul Fatihah Binti Abd Rahman, who ensured the smooth execution and success of their participation. This festival served as a platform to showcase the beauty of singing and religious expression while enhancing spiritual values and creativity among the participants.

On 29 November 2025, KTMB took part in the Boria Competition 2025, organised by the Majlis Mahasiswa Anak Pulau Pinang, represented by 16 participants through the group Boria Rentak Sakti and supported by 19 committee members behind the stage. The competition aimed to revive the traditional theatrical art form popular in Northern Malaysia, particularly in Penang. With the theme 'Pertanian Lestari, Malaysia Harmoni', the team was led by Ms. Ng Jen Yee, who played a significant role in their success, securing the Overall Runner-up and the Best Tukang Karang Special Award.

On 30 November 2025, Arustika Putrasakti club competed in Creative Ethnic Dance Competition 2025 organized by the Persatuan Mahasiswa Sabah UPM and Badansa Dance Arts Club. The team comprised 8 dancers and 19 committee members, led by Mr. Afif Afwan Rohizan. They presented a Rungus ethnic dance from Sabah, potrtraying the community’s journey to seek new land for survival and harmony despite facing numerous challenges. The KTMB Creative Ethnic Dance team not only emerged as the Champion, but also swept four special awards which were Best Choreography Award, Best Music Award, Best Costume & Makeup Award and Best Male Dancer Award.

All the achievements throughout PESKON 49 reflect the dedication, hard work, and strong commitment of the participants, supported wholeheartedly by the college fellow, Mr. Muhammad Hazziq bin Mohd Hamdan, and the KTMB community. These triumphant wins contributed valuable points to the college and strengthened KTMB’s standing in the field of arts and culture.

With the remarkable victories by both the Boria and Creative Ethnic Dance teams, KTMB proudly recorded outstanding accomplishments at PESKON 49, reinforcing its reputation as a dynamic force in the cultural and creative arts scene at UPM.

PESKON 49 has created a meaningful and positive impact on all involved. It is hoped that competitions such as these will continue in the future to ensure that Malaysian cultural arts can flourish and be appreciated by the younger generation. May the experiences and achievements gained serve as inspiration for KTMB students to continue championing local arts and culture on the global stage.
