SERDANG, 29 January 2026 – The Podcast: Nightline UPM programme was successfully organised by the Secretariat of Digitalisation and Corporate Communication on 8, 15, 22 and 29 January 2026. The programme was conducted every Thursday via Facebook Live from Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee. It consisted of four podcast series, each lasting one hour and was targeted at students of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
According to the Programme Director, Charlene, the main objective of Podcast: Nightline UPM was to provide a relaxed and student-friendly platform where undergraduates could listen to discussions relevant to student life while carrying out their daily activities. She hoped that the programme could serve as a form of emotional and mental support for students through discussions that closely reflect the realities of campus life.
The programme featured four podcast series with different themes each week. Series 1, titled Mind and Soul Talks: Mental Health Matter, focused on mental health issues among university students. Series 2, Fuel to Flourish: Healthy Eating and Student Lifestyle, discussed healthy eating practices and student lifestyle habits. This was followed by Series 3, Bonds That Last: Friendship and Relationship, which highlighted topics related to friendships and relationships. Finally, Series 4, Balance in Motion: Time and Life Balance, emphasised time management and achieving balance in students’ daily lives.
One of the unique aspects of Podcast: Nightline UPM was the active involvement of students through anonymous messages collected weekly from UPM students. These messages were openly discussed with invited panelists, who provided advice, insights and practical solutions in a constructive manner. The programme featured two experienced guest panelists, namely Ms Norezzati, an officer from Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, who participated in Series 1, 3 and 4, as well as Ms Joanna, a PhD holder in Clinical Nutrition, who was featured in Series 2.
At the end of each series, interactive sessions were held, including song requests submitted by students via Instagram, as well as the sharing of messages and motivational words for fellow students as a form of moral support. These interactive elements helped create a more relaxed atmosphere, strengthened student engagement, and enhanced the effectiveness of delivering positive messages.
The organisers hope that Podcast: Nightline UPM can be continued in the future as a digital platform that contributes positively to the well-being and holistic development of UPM students.
