SERDANG, 21 June 2026 – Putra Tuition 4.0, organised by the Entrepreneurship Secretariat of the College Representative Council (MPK), Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee (KTMB), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully conducted from 14 November 2025 until 20 June 2026 at the KTMB Reading Room. The programme was held every Friday and Saturday evening to help improve the academic understanding and religious education of children aged 5 to 12 years old.
Putra Tuition 4.0 was established as an additional learning platform for primary school pupils through Iqra’ classes, core subject learning sessions, and assessment tests conducted during every session. Besides benefiting the pupils, the programme also provided UPM students, particularly those from KTMB, with the opportunity to earn supplementary income as tutors while enhancing their communication, leadership, and classroom management skills.
Throughout the programme, more than 40 primary school pupils participated, reflecting the highly encouraging response from parents and the local community. With an affordable participation fee of only RM7 per student, the programme successfully provided quality and accessible learning opportunities for children in the Serdang area.
One of the unique features of Putra Tuition 4.0 was the implementation of short assessment tests at the end of each learning session. Through this approach, tutors were able to continuously monitor the students’ level of understanding and adapt their teaching methods according to individual needs.
According to the Programme Director, Siti Usaimah binti Masduki, “Putra Tuition 4.0 not only benefits pupils in terms of academic and religious development, but also serves as a platform for university students to build self-confidence, enhance communication skills, and gain teaching experience in a real-life environment.”
One of the programme participants also shared that the classes helped them understand their lessons better and increased their confidence in answering questions during lessons and examinations.
Overall, Putra Tuition 4.0 successfully achieved its objective of strengthening the academic development of primary school pupils while producing university students who are competitive, skilled, and community-oriented. It is hoped that this programme will continue in the future so that more children can benefit from quality education and continuous learning support provided by UPM students.
