“PUTRA TUITON 3.0”

Serdang, 4th July 2025 – The Putra Tuition 3.0 program, organized by the Entrepreneurship Secretariat of the Student Representative Council, Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee successfully concluded its run. The program, which began on 29 November 2024, was held weekly on Friday and Saturday nights at the Reading Room of Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee, Universiti Putra Malaysia. It aimed to provide students with opportunities to earn income as tutors while developing soft skills through direct community engagement.

This initiative also benefited the community, particularly the children of UPM staff and surrounding residents, by offering tuition classes at affordable rates. The program featured three core components: Quranic reading classes, academic subject tutoring, and character development. A total of 15 university students served as tutors each session, while over 40 primary school students participated throughout the duration of the program.

Notably, Putra Tuition 3.0 introduced Quranic classes as an added value to its existing modules, making the learning approach more holistic and well-rounded. In addition, the program enabled university students to build social networks, strengthen empathy, and gain a deeper understanding of community challenges.

With such encouraging outcomes, the organizers hope that Putra Tuition will continue in the future with broader participation and ongoing support from various stakeholders. The program not only reflects the students' compassion for the community but also proves that university students can be significant agents of change in the development of education and social wellbeing in the country.
