SERDANG, 23 April - In line with the announcement by the management of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) that the UPM Aidilfitri 2024 Mega Raya celebration ceremony will be held simultaneously on 23 April 2024 by each responsible Centre (PTJ), residential colleges, associations/unions including UPM Bintulu campus, Tan Sri Mustaffa babjee College has held the ceremony in the morning until noon.
The ceremony, which began at 10.30 am, was aimed at strengthening the friendship of fellow members of the Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College, namely management staff, fellows and students from various races and religions. The ceremony began with a speech and delivery of a mandate from the principal of the College Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee, YBrs. Associate Prof. Dr Nurh Hayah binti Khairuddin and continued with prayer readings and interludes from fellow of the Arts and culture Secretariat, Ms. Maisarah binti Mohamed Zakaria and representatives of the College Representative Council, Arts and culture Secretariat, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee college session 2023/2024. The guests were entertained with interludes of raya songs while dining prepared by the management as well as food donations from several individuals.
The purpose of this activity is to enliven the hari raya celebration ceremony and to close the relationship between the multi-racial and religious members of the college. The council then welcomed the presence of Representatives from the Student Affairs Office who were also present to enliven the 2024 Mega Raya celebration.
Overall, the implementation of this ceremony has succeeded in fostering the value of professional unity among the citizens of Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee. In addition, with this program, students, especially those who are not Muslims, can explore and increase their knowledge of the Aidilfitri tradition that has been almost forgotten over the years. Hopefully, the implementation of this event can produce a generation of students who are proactive in cultural activities in Malaysia.
A medal of appreciation and gratitude was expressed to the Monitoring Officer, line-up of implementing staff, fellows, the College Representative Council and the students involved in the success of this program. Hopefully this program can benefit students and can be continued in the future.
