THE ZOONOALERT: ONE HEALTH PROGRAM
SELANGOR, 27 July 2024 - The Secretariat of The Block and Welfare Chairman, College Representative Council, Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee session 2023/2024 held the ZoonoAlert: One Health program at Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Kajang (SMAPK) on 20 January 2024 ( Saturday).
ZoonoAlert: One Health Program has four modules starting with module 1, namely Introduction to UPM Vet and USIM Medic: Vet Doctor vs Human Doctor given by Dr. Nurul Kharmila binti Abdullah, Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). Module 2: What is a Pathogen? which educates students about microorganisms through practical activities to make models of microorganisms using materials that have been prepared. In Module 3, Introduction To One Health Concept, participants were introduced to the concept of One Health which explains the relationship between human, animal, and environmental health by Dr. Nurul Indah, lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UPM and also 2 members of One Health Student Club USIM. The Program then took a proactive turn with a side module which is health screening provided for teachers and students at SMAPK.

The final module is Module 4: Explorace-Be a Zoonotic Disease Detective which is a dynamic combination of exploration and racing. Through this module, students have applied the knowledge gained from the previous modules to solve the challenges at each station. Therefore, through the ZoonoAlert: One Health program, students will not only be able to strengthen their understanding of zoonotic diseases and One Health, but will also be able to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining the common well-being between humans, animals and the environment.

We would like to express our appreciation to all the committee members who worked hard in launching this program, as well as the participants who took the time to make the program a success. Hopefully, with the cooperation of all parties, the goal of this program to build a generation that is knowledgeable and concerned about animals and the environment can be achieved.
