TownHall KTMB UPM

Serdang, November 14, 2024 – Kolej Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee (KTMB) recently held two TownHall sessions at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on November 12 and 14, 2024. The events took place at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, bringing together college administration, faculty administration, and students from both the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The primary aim of these sessions was to foster a closer connection between the college, faculty management, and KTMB students, while also addressing current issues related to college life and offering valuable information and guidance.

The first session was dedicated to Veterinary Medicine students and featured KTMB’s Principal, Associate Professor Dr. Nurul Hayah Khairuddin. She was supported by the Deputy Dean for Academics,Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Jalila Abu, who was also in attendance. The second session engaged students from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, with the presence of the Faculty Dean, Professor Dr. Normala Ibrahim, and the Deputy Dean (Health Sciences Academics and Student & Alumni Affairs), Professor Dr. Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof.

Dr. Nurul Hayah addressed key issues such as the college’s merit and demerit system and future accommodations planning. She emphasized the importance of a collaborative relationship among faculty, college, and students in maintaining a harmonious and supportive college environment. She encouraged students to take full advantage of available opportunities to enrich their experiences and reminded them that their success would also bring pride to both the college and the faculty. Her message reflected her hope that KTMB students would emerge as individuals who can balance academic excellence with the social skills needed in their future careers.

A Q&A session provided students with an open forum to share feedback, suggestions, and any issues they wished to discuss with the college management. During the Veterinary Medicine session, Professor Dr. Jalila Abu shared motivational words, reminding students of the significant responsibilities they carry in the veterinary field and the importance of their contribution to society. Professor Dr. Normala Ibrahim also addressed the Health Sciences students, stressing their vital role in supporting the vision of both the college and the faculty, especially in fields of medicine and health sciences. The faculty assured students of their commitment to fostering a supportive environment for comprehensive student development, both academically and socially.

This TownHall received a warm response from the students in attendance, reflecting the dedication of both the college and faculty to strengthening communication between students and the management. Looking forward, it is hoped that programs like this will continue to empower students in facing future challenges, ultimately producing well-rounded graduates prepared for the demands of the professional world.
