KOLEJ TUJUH BELAS, UPM - On 26 June 2022, the launch of the new name Kolej Tujuh Belas, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College, took place at the 14th Kilauan Berjasa Dinner last night at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Culture and Arts Center ( PKKSSAAS) UPM.

Principal of College 17, Assoc Prof Dr Jasronita Jasni said the name change was an initiative taken by UPM management in an effort to rebrand the names of residential colleges inspired by the names of leading figures related to the field of student studies. The late Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee is a leading academic figure in the field of medicine, veterinary medicine and health sciences who has contributed a lot both at the national and international levels.

On the same night, Kolej Tujuh Belas also celebrated the students who did a lot to make the name of Kolej Tujuh Belas in the 2021/2022 session. A total of 14 awards were presented to students who were selected based on high commitment throughout the trust given, excellence in academics, and accumulation of the highest merit. A total of 9 MAKJASA XIV Awards and 5 SPECIAL Awards were given that night.

Also present were the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Tengku Syarif Laksamana Perlis Dato 'Sri Diraja Syed Razlan Syed Putra Jamalullail, UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato' Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, principals of UPM residential colleges and heir to the late Tan Sri Ahmad Mustaffa Babjee.
