PINK VENOM

Serdang, January 31, 2023 - Under the Leadership and Training Secretariat, College Representative Council, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College session 2022/2023 organized the Pink Venom Awareness and Leadership Program on December 24. The program was held at Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College Square and was attended by two firefighters from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, Mr Abdul Syafiq bin Othman and Mr. Muhammad Syakir bin Abdul Abd Rahim. About 100 participants from Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College participated in the program. The program also welcomes the presence of fellows and management staff along with familymembers who are together to gain knowledge on the handling of poisonous and dangerous animals. Opening of the Council by YBrs. Prof. Associate Dr. Jasronita binti Jasni by giving greetings word and welcoming the speakers.

The program aims to enhance students' agility in acting wisely and quickly with the basic knowledge of managing venomous animals. In addition, students can cast ideas and find solutions in the event of an emergency situation with venomous animals. It was also exposed to the procedure of operating venomous and sharing by the speaker on the situation facing venomous animals, as well as who was responsible for contact in the event of an unexpected situation beyond the ability of the students.

The program began with a lecture session from Mr. Muhammad Syakir, followed by Mr Abdul Syafiq who highlighted how to get to know the venomous snake. They also share the tips on operating the animal. Subsequently, the second session was conducted, which is a simulation session. Here, they demonstrate how to catch the right snake using special equipment. A total of 2 snakes were used during this session, namely Python Reticulatus and King Cobra. At the end of the program, students have the opportunity to take pictures with a special snake brought from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, Selangor State Branch.

The principal also shared the joy with the excellent participation of the students.

'I am very pleased with the participation of many students, the desire for students to gain knowledge of the dangers of venomous animals and the procedure of operating venomous animals. This is very important due to the structure of land in college areas with swampy areas and forests exposed to the presence of venomous animals. From this program, it can be a lot to prepare students with the knowledge of venomous animal handling procedures in the event of real situations. '
